Role
Motion Designer / Broadcast Graphic Designer — concept, art direction, graphic design, animation, and compositing.
Project goal
Give a music programme a visual identity that feels rhythmic before a single note is heard. Rather than relying on literal images of instruments or performers, the concept translates sound into a graphic pulse: vertical bars, changing density, bold typography, and a saturated turquoise–violet palette form a visual waveform around the show title.
Creative and technical approach
The main challenge was to make a very simple graphic vocabulary feel alive. Lines expand, contract, overlap, and change tempo, while the title becomes part of the same rhythm instead of sitting on top as a separate layer. The composition alternates between controlled repetition and small disruptions, giving the opener the sensation of responding to music without becoming a literal audio visualiser.
The system was designed to remain clear on television: strong contrast, large letterforms, and a compact central identity make the programme recognisable even in fast transitions.
Result
A bright, energetic show identity built from rhythm itself — simple enough to stay memorable and flexible, but distinctive enough to give Music Wave its own visual beat.
